Lauren Ringgold

October 24, 1978 - September 3, 2022

Lauren Justin Ringgold was born in the loving arms of his mother Carolyn Ringgold and father the late Pastor Larry Ringgold Sr. alongside his siblings Larry Jr., La Che, and La Zette on October 24th, 1978 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, Maryland.

Lauren had a passion for sports which began when he played football and basketball for Aberdeen Parks & Recs teams during his childhood and continued while attending Aberdeen High School where he played football, and basketball, and won a State Championship in track & field. He was an avid University of Alabama, Baltimore Ravens, and Los Angeles Lakers fan.

 

After graduating high school in 1997, Lauren devoted a strong part of his life to providing for his family and was the embodiment of a hardworking man. He held successive full-time positions at IKEA Distribution Center and Emergent BioSolutions all while demonstrating his entrepreneurship by launching Ringgold Detailing.

 

Loved by all, because he loved all, Lauren’s warm and welcoming spirit as well as his charismatic smile was a predominant force throughout the neighborhoods that he lived in from the time of his youth throughout his adult life. Lauren could always be found helping those around him.

 

He was an influential member of the community as he volunteered as a youth basketball coach for Aberdeen Parks & Recs and Perryville Youth Football League. “Coach Lauren” was a name known to many and was truly one of a kind. He will forever hold an impact on the youth that he coached.
 

When not working or volunteering his time in the community, Lauren, better known as “Bling” enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the K9 Motorcycle Club.

Lauren was a devoted, involved, loving father. His memory will be carried on through his wife Shelly Ringgold and his sons Isaiah and Josiah Ringgold. He was also a loving, caring son who will forever be cherished by his mother and siblings. He leaves behind a host of relatives and friends.
